Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District recognized it needed a stronger approach to college and career readiness after its previous platform failed to generate meaningful engagement or actionable student data. Led by Associate Superintendent Dr. Greg Carenza, the district selected SchooLinks to support its district career and academic planning while providing better insight into students' interests and future goals.
Rather than rushing implementation, Dallas Center-Grimes spent six months preparing for launch. District leaders worked closely with SchooLinks to build internal excitement, engage the school board, and establish a steering committee to guide long-term success. Dr. Carenza credits both the platform's capabilities and SchooLinks' implementation support for helping create momentum across the district.
One of the district's first signs of success came before implementation officially began. Students discovered the platform on their own and voluntarily started completing career interest surveys and personality assessments during the summer. For district leaders, that early engagement reinforced their confidence that SchooLinks would become a powerful tool for supporting career readiness, work-based learning, and personalized planning for every student.
