SMS/MMS Text Messaging Terms

These SMS/MMS Text Messaging Terms ("SMS Terms") describe how SchooLinks communicates with users by text message. They supplement, and do not replace, the SchooLinks Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which continue to govern your overall use of the SchooLinks service.

Opt-In

SchooLinks sends SMS/MMS messages only to users who separately and affirmatively opt in to receive them. Providing a telephone number, registering for a SchooLinks account, or accepting SchooLinks's general Terms of Use does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive SMS/MMS messages.

This SMS opt-in is an optional communications preference. It is not a separate platform contract, and it does not replace or modify any consent, authorization, or data-sharing arrangement between SchooLinks and a partner school or school district under the Privacy Policy's Data Sharing Agreement or under applicable law, including FERPA and COPPA.

Who Can Opt In

SchooLinks does not knowingly collect mobile telephone numbers or send SMS/MMS messages to children under 13. Where a user is under 13, SchooLinks communicates with the child's parent or guardian rather than sending text messages directly to the child.

Message Frequency and Fees

Message frequency varies depending on your account activity and settings. Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan.

How to Opt Out

You may opt out of SMS/MMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive, or by contacting us at privacy@schoolinks.com. Reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of SMS/MMS messages will not affect your ability to receive other communications from us, including account, privacy, and security notices.

How Your Information Is Used

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. SchooLinks may permit service providers to process mobile telephone numbers, message content, and related routing and delivery information solely as necessary to operate and deliver the text messaging program. Those service providers may not use the information for marketing, promotional, or other independent purposes.

SchooLinks does not send text messages advertising or promoting third-party scholarships, internships, volunteer positions, or other opportunities. For more information about how SchooLinks collects, uses, and shares personal information generally, see the SchooLinks Privacy Policy.
