ISS Merit Scholarship
Unique among public research institutions, Old Dominion University offers a renewable (up to four years) undergraduate merit scholarship. Awards range between $5,000 and $10,000 annually to qualified applicants.

Eligibility & Terms
Apply by April 15 (fall) or October 1 (spring)

Cumulative, U.S. equivalent 3.25 grade point average (GPA)
Newly admitted (never previously enrolled at ODU)

Pursue an initial Bachelor's degree
Valid non-immigrant visa status
Ineligible for Virginia in-state tuition rates
ISS covers only degree seeking courses

Supplemental Materials
Two (2) letters of recommendation from previous teachers or advisors. Leadership ability through school and community activities should be addressed
One (1) page essay indicating academic intent and personal goals
TOEFL & SAT are optional, though highly recommended

Renewable for up to four years (eight semesters)

Full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours for both the Fall and Spring terms)
Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.25
