Four (4) $1000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating LAUSD seniors who will be the first in their immediate families to go to college. Preference will be given to students who are (or have been) in foster care homeless undocumented students and/or LGBTQ (system involved youth applicants also encouraged to apply).
Before completing the online application make sure you have the following documents ready to upload:-A two to three paragraph essay (between 400-700 words) on the following topic: Humanism is based on the belief that every human being should be treated equally regardless of race gender sexual orientation class and disability status. What issue(s) are you passionate about addressing in your community and how might Humanism make a positive difference in creating social change? (Include in your essay if you are (or have been) in foster care homeless undocumented group home or system-involved and/or LGBTQ)-A letter or recommendation from an advisor/teacher that includes your participation in school and/or community-based organizations.
