The Swank Traveling Fellowship is awarded to an advanced architecture student for research related to the integration of craft and craftsmanship into the built environment. Recent awardees have studied the use of local construction techniques in primary school design in India and adobe construction in the Urubamba Valley in Peru.
A U.S. citizen or permanent resident-A resident of Texas-Registered as a 4th 5th or 6th year student at an accredited architecture program or a recent graduate (within 3 years) of an accredited architecture programThe fellowship must be used in the year it is awarded. If the funds are not used in this time period they will be forfeited. One-half of the award will be forwarded to the recipient upon notification of the award. Recipient agrees to present a public presentation by March of the year following award at the Dallas Center for Architecture at which time the final half of the award will be disbursed.
