Description

The Bernice Barlow NAACP Scholarship is in memory Bernice Lowery a former educator and NAACP activist. She also served as NAACP assistant secretary and secretary before becoming president in 1968. She held the presidency for 30 years before stepping down in 1998. She participated in the March on Washington in 1963 and the Poor People's March in 1968. She also attended the funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Requirements
Eligibility: - Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA- High school senior- Applicant parent or legal guardian must be a current member of the Saginaw NAACP Branch- Resident of Saginaw Bay or Midland counties- Pursuing an undergraduate degree vocational training or two-year degree- Full-time enrollmentFor more information and to apply please visit the scholarship provider's website.
