A five-person Task Group to include at least three university faculty members of Committees C09 and C01 as designated by the Chair of Committee C09, with a Committee C09 Executive Subcommittee member serving as Chair will assist ASTM International Headquarters in selecting the recipient of the scholarship. ASTM International will assist in publicizing availability of the award to academic institutions.
Each nominee shall prepare a written application that includes the following information:
Full contact information
Name of Academic Institution
Major and Year enrolled
Transcript of grades for two preceding academic years
Listing of any academic honors
A one page statement reflecting interest in, and any experience or accomplishments toward, a career in cement technology, concrete materials technology, or concrete construction
A written faculty recommendation
A unanimous affirmative vote of the members of the Task Group, allowing for abstentions, is required to select the scholarship recipient. THE SCHOLARSHIP Each recipient of the Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship shall receive up to $7,500 to be used for their educational expenses. One or more scholarships may be awarded each academic year as long as sufficient funds are available. FINANCING THE AWARD ASTM Committee C09 has established a dedicated Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship Fund that is maintained and administered by ASTM International. Earnings from the Scholarship Fund are used to finance the Scholarships.
The Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship is presented each year, contingent upon merit and available funds, to full time undergraduate students completing their second/sophomore year of college, or later, or graduate students who are pursuing degrees specializing in cement or concrete materials technology, or concrete construction.
