To support the ongoing growth and development of the consulting, engineering, construction, and operations industry, we partner with several universities and associations to fund scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. With these programs, CDM Smith strives to foster the education and career opportunities of our industry's future leaders.
Current opportunities include:
American Water Works Association (AWWA) Thomas R. Camp Scholarship
The Thomas R. Camp Scholarship provides support to outstanding students doing applied research in the drinking water field. The $5,000, one-time grant is awarded to doctoral students in even years and master's students in odd years.
For more information or to download an application, please visit the AWWA website. The annual deadline for application is January 15.
Lawler Scholarship (Northeastern University)
Our Lawler Scholarship was established in memory of Joseph C. Lawler—one of the firm's most forward-thinking CEOs and a staunch supporter of his alma mater, Northeastern University.
The university's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department considers the Lawler Scholarship its most prestigious scholarship offering. Each year, the department selects the undergraduate students who will receive the scholarship.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)-CDM Smith Scholars Program
We have teamed up with SHPE to offer an exciting scholarship opportunity—the SHPE-CDM Smith Scholars Program. Each year, up to six students admitted into the program will receive a $6,000 academic scholarship, paid summer internship with CDM Smith, and living and housing reimbursement for up to $2,500 during the internship.
For more information or to apply, visit the SHPE-CDM Smith Scholarship Program page. Applications are due by December 18, 2015.
University of Florida - CDM Smith Endowment
On behalf of the University of Florida Environmental Engineering Sciences (EES) Department, we provide an endowed fellowship to a prospective graduate student. The fellowship is administered by the EES Department.
