To aid the United States in retaining its world leadership in science and technology by providing college scholarships for the very best and brightest students pursuing science, technology, engineering or math degrees.
In addition, the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation strongly promotes the importance of science and technology to the general public by facilitating unique programs and special events.
Applicants must be sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate or graduate students in physical science or engineering at Clemson University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Harvey Mudd College, Miami University, North Carolina A&T; State University, North Carolina State University, North Dakota State University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Syracuse University, Texas A&M; University, Tufts University, University of Central Florida, University of Colorado, University of Kentucky, University of Minnesota, University of Michigan, University of Oklahoma, University of Washington or Washington University and must be nominated by faculty or staff. Applicants may not directly apply for the scholarship. Students must have excellent grades and performed research or lab work in their field.
